Another massive album announcement week this week in our Album News Weekly! There’s a couple of live albums on the way, Franz Ferdinand have announced a new record coming up, plus there’s the Maine, Bliss N Esso, some compilation albums a few labels have put together, plus many many more!
LAURA IMBRUGLIA
Laura Imbruglia has announced the release of her third album What A Treat, due out on June 7th via Ready Freddie Records/MGM. She’ll be playing a string of shows in Jule and July along the East Coast in support of the release. Check out the leading track “Awoooh!”
THE CITY AND HORSES
Strange Range is the third album from quirky indie poppers The City And Horses. Due out on June 18th, the record features 11 original tracks.
THEM SWOOPS
The debut EP from Melbourne’s Them Swoops is set for release on June 14th. Glimmers is a glimpse at what we can expect from the indie pop duo’s forthcoming album.
FRANZ FERDINAND
Franz Ferdinand have announced they’re set to release their fourth studio album Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action this August. Due out on the 23rd of the month, the 10-track listing will be the band’s first in 4 years. Watch the official trailer!
THUNDERCAT
Stephen Bruner aka Thundercat has paired up with Flying Lotus on his latest album Apocalypse. It’s set for release on July 5th the 12 tracks feature a fusion of pop, soul, electronica, prog rock and funk.
THE UPBEATS
Primitive Techniques is the forthcoming album from New Zealand’s The Upbeats, featuring 14 unique drum & bass tracks. It’s out on May 24th.
THE MAINE
Arizona punk rockers The Maine have announced the release of their forthcoming album Forever Halloween.The 12 track listing is due out on June 7th via Rude Records.
BLISS N ESO
On June 28th Aussie hip hop outfit Bliss N Eso are set to release their latest album circus In The Sky. They’ve just unveiled the cover art – take a look!
POND
Pond are known for the bizarre album names and their latest offering perfectly fits the bill. Hobo Rocket is the fifth album from the Aussie five-piece, but consists of a significantly small track listing for an LP – seven tracks in total. It’s due out on August 2nd. A GRAVE WITH NO NAME
A Grave With No Name have whipped together a brilliant 14 track collection for their upcoming full-length Whirlpool. It’s due out on July 2nd via Lefse Records.
CARO EMERALD
The Shocking Miss Emerald is the aptly named sophomore LP from Caro Emerald. The album is due out on May 31st, and if you were wondering, it’s theme is ‘style’ – of course darling. Check out the official video for the leading single “Tangled Up”.
LEE KERNAGHAN
Country star Lee Kernaghan is set to release his personal tribute to country legend Slim Dusty, marking the 10th anniversary of the iconic country star’s passing. “Flying With The King” is the tribute track from forthcoming album Beautiful Noise, which is set for release on May 24th.
BEN FOLDS FIVE
Ben Folds Five are releasing their first ever live album! Ben Folds Five Live is due out on June 7th and was recorded in 2012-2013 on the band’s first tour in more than a decade, as they supported the release of their latest album 2012’s The Sound Of The Life Of The Mind.
ED BANGER RECORDS
Ed Banger Records are releasing a compilation album celebrating 10 years of dance music releases from their Ed Rec family. It features 14 tracks from the likes of Justice, Cassius, Busy P and many more.
DARKBEAT
Another label compilation album is coming out way in the form of Darkbeat’s 10th Anniversary Compilation. There’s 42 tracks across three CD’s, mixed by Phil K, Anthony Poppa and Rollin Connection.

Eden Mulholland is set to release his debut solo album Feed The Beast on June 7th.
BASEMENT FREAKS
